Working mainly in ceramics; in particular earthenware, Jennifer creates unique and individual pieces with a hint of storytelling. Inspired by the flora, fauna and tranquillity of the Lincolnshire Wolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty and using bold colour contrasts, irony and contradiction, Jennifer’s work creates a narrative, sometimes dark, often dramatic, but always contrary.
Jennifer has been creating pottery in Lincolnshire since 2003. Going to university in 2005 after being inspired by an evening course at the local adult education centre, she graduated from Lincoln University in 2008 with a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Decorative Crafts specialising in Ceramics, Jennifer also has an MA in Museum Studies with Distinction from University of Leicester.
Jennifer has exhibited in the Sam Scorer Gallery in Lincoln, The Ropewalk in Barton-Upon-Humber, Harding House in Lincoln and 20-21 Visual Arts Centre in Scunthorpe. Now focusing on workshops and education, she loves working with people to develop their creative skills and finds the difference in people’s perspectives fascinating and inspiring. Jennifer is an Arts Awards Advisor and Assessor for all levels of Arts Awards: Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold and has an NCFE Level 3 in Education & Training.
